New Mexico Windmill - Platinum / Palladium Print by Don Cameron Photographic Artist

Don Cameron and his Creative Camera Studio have been creating high-end commercial images since 1975. Specializing in large format special effects photography, Don has been creating multiple image composites long before the advent of modern computers and the digital age. His understanding of subtle lighting, combined with strong compositional capabilities, has kept him in demand with many hi-tech companies throughout the United States. His client list reads like a Who's Who of Silicon Valley. Companies like Amdahl/Fuji, Apple, Applied Materials, Chevron USA, Ricoh, Smythe European, Sony, South Bay Circuits, and many others have kept his studio busy for many years.

In 1982, Don ventured into the world of black and white fine art as a relaxing way to relieve stress created by the tight deadlines in the advertising world. This exploration has resulted in many one-man and group shows, and his prints are a part of many art collections around the world. He was one of a select group of artists to participate in the "Arts in the Embassies" program. This was a group show that traveled extensively, hanging on the walls of many of our United States Embassies around the world.

In 1999, Don was approached by the Art & Design department of the University of California at Santa Cruz to teach workshops in their photography area. This was a major turning point in his life. Although he still does some select commercial work, his major focus is on passing along the knowledge he has amassed over the years. His studio offers many different types of workshops, from studio lighting techniques to black & white negative exposure, and development, to black and white printing. Don offers many traveling workshops throughout the year, so check out the workshop schedule, and sign up here to be included on our mailing list.
